Message from the Jury
A new competition was held for the first time this year for the creation of wooden, including bamboo, musical instruments and apparatuses. Due to the delayed announcement of application guidelines and the lack of time before the deadline, the number of applications was small. However, the submitted works exceeded the expectations of the judging panel and there were works related to the SDGs, interesting and full of originality and ingenuity, and easily reproduced. All the judges enjoyed it very much and were impressed with the submissions that we can expect further development in this category in the future. We would like to once again applaud and cheer for all the submissions and creative motivations.
Theme
Create your own sound with wood and bamboo
Purpose
This Competition is held to foster interests in forests and wood and a familiarity with musical culture by creating your own musical instruments made of wood and bamboo, rather than playing existing instruments. This means the created instrument does not have to be able to play scales or clear pitches. Please use your own ideas to create a "musical instrument" or an "sound apparatus" that can produce the "sound" of your choice.
